Brothers Old Boys Rugby Club (Rockhampton) Inc celebrates its 38 year Anniversary this year (2008) and continues to be one of the premier Rugby clubs in country Queensland. The Club has developed considerably since its humble beginnings in 1970 and this year will compete in two (2) senior grades (A and Reserve Grade), one (3) junior and four (4) pathways grades.
Since 1970, Brothers on-field fortunes have fluctuated (winning is a cyclical thing) ranging from wonderful grand final victories, being Club Champions to periods where we struggled to even field even one (1) team. We have enjoyed the company and developed many fine players and characters and have hosted Wallabies, Reds and Country champions. The common factor throughout though has been an enjoyment of the game and the special camaraderie that exists between teammates and opponents alike.
Brothers has enjoyed much success in its senior ranks in recent times, A Grade Premiers 2006, Under 19 Premiers 2003 (Undefeated), Reserve Grade Premiers 2003 and 2003 Club Champions. Our A grade team has only missed the grand final 5 times in the past 13 years and winning the District A Grade Premierships in 1982, 1997, 1999, 2000, 2001 & 2006. Add to that a score of Junior Premierships from 1997 to 2003 Brothers playing stocks look sure to maintain this success in 2007 and beyond. Might be time to build a bigger trophy cabinet?
